I want to talk about cheap laptops but not the benefits of a cheap laptop that is used but the downside of owning one.  Because if you have read any of the pages on this website you will know that I believe that you always get what you pay for.  Quality does in fact equate to the price you pay and that goes for new as well as used laptops.

I encourage you to do a search on www.bestbuy.com or one of your favorite electronics stores for notebooks or in our case laptops.  I will almost guarantee that you will find really cheap cost laptops under $800.  Which would seem like a great buy.  BEWARE of these cheap laptops and remember that you always get what you pay for in laptops.  To get a quality laptop that is new you need to pay at a minimum $1500 and that is at any time you might be reading this page.  That's right, this rule of thumb holds true today as it did 3 years ago.  The only difference will be that the specifications of the laptops will have changed over time.  It is just that the companies have given this price as the starting point for quality laptops.

But what about that $800 laptop.  Well if you do in fact get what you pay for in laptops then you will get a laptop that will fall apart about the time the warranty is over.  In most cases that is in one year.  You then would need to buy another laptop.  These are in fact Cheap laptops.
